On a Saturday in February we organized an evening about our countries. In our cases we had Austria and France. The idea behind was to let people know more about where we are from due to the fact that every region of a country is different. Furthermore we focused on history, traditions, places, typical food and drinks.
“Almabtrieb” in Tyrol

The project already started the Tuesday before with going to buy all the ingredients which were needed. Wednesday I started to prepare. My dishes were speck- and spinach dumplings, apple pie and the Vienna “Sachertorte”. Everything beside the Vienna chocolate cake is already well known by Italian people for the simple reason that South- and North Tyrol mostly share the same food.
When Saturday arrived, I was excited and really nervous at the same time. For this event I wore a typical tyrolean dress which is called “Dirndl”. It was funny wearing it here and making people more curious!
Taken it all together, it was a really nice evening! The people enjoyed our dishes, they liked our wine and “grappa” and they had conversations, so our goal was fulfilled!
It was another time were food, music and interests brought cultures together ❤
